30 Rock: An Analysis

The doors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza are opened, and greeting you is an overly enthusiastic page, telling you all about the history of NBC. You see writers scuttling about, executives making notes, and actors producing dramatic scenes. This, is 30 Rock...

30 Rock is an American sitcom based on the life of the people behind television. With comedic scenes and parodies of real life events, the sitcom uses drama to entertain its viewers. 30 Rock opened the door for women leading comedy, accurately portrayed friendships, and struggled with race issues that continue on today. Despite the contradicting values of the show, it continues to be used as a comedic precedent for the television of today.
